"I Truly Appreciate That"

I've been so busy the last two weeks that I haven't had a chance to blog in awhile, but I had to write what Cade said in the car tonight. I like to write whenever the kids say something funny so I never forget. I had the boys out past their bedtime tonight...so on the way home I asked them to get ready for bed as soon as they got home and to go straight to bed. I told them no talking tonight..that I needed them to get some sleep because they have a big day tomarrow(Halloween parties at school and trunk or treat). Dylan then said, "Yes, we need to go right to sleep because we have a big day tomarrow and we're going to get lots of candy." Cade then proceeded to say in a funny voice, "I truly appreciate that, but I can't have any candy." Dylan and I both cracked up laughing. I asked him where he got that from. He said he heard it on the Disney Cars movie. I'll have to watch it again to see where that part is.

Vote For Dylan and Cade

We entered the boys into a Haloween Costume contest. I forgot that the voting started today. It goes through October 29th. You can vote once a day. If you have the time and would like to vote the web address is:

Please don't feel like you have to...we are just doing this for fun. :-)
It's the grumpy old men costume shown 2 posts ago. Thanks.

Disgustingly Funny

Chad always plays this game with the boys when they're young....He puts his finger on their teeth and and screams ahhh and takes he finger out of their mouth really fast and they think it's so funny. He's been doing that alot with Gavin lately since all his teeth are coming in. He also lets them put their finger in his mouth and once again they think that's so funny. Jack hasn't out grown this game. Yesterday, Chad was on the couch watching some football and Jack came up to him with his finger pointed at him so Chad opened his mouth and growled at him....thinking he was playing the game. Jack did put his finger in his mouth and Chad could feel him wipe something on his teeth. Chad yelled yuck and spit a booger out of his mouth as he says, "What is that a booger!!!!!!" I can hardly write this because I'm laughing so hard. I just can't stop laughing about it. Jack thinks it's pretty funny too. Aparently Jack wasn't playing the game...he merely was trying to tell dad he needed a tissue because he had a booger. Although this picture isn't the best due to the sunlight(I'm too lazy to fix it on photoshop tonight) I thought it was perfect because it shows what a little stinker he is.

On a side note: On the way home from church this morning Cade showed me what he did in primary today. He said, "I didn't have time to finish coloring it though because I was too busy folding my arms."

Today the boys sang in the primary program at church. I always love watching them sing. Dylan did a great job. He never sings and today he did. Next year Jack will join them...I can't believe how fast they're growing.

Last Years Halloween Costumes

Here are my two little old men with horse shoe haircuts. For those of you who didn't see their costumes from last year....YES we DID shave their heads!!! It was soooo much fun putting together these costumes. With Caden's small frame he reminded me of a miniture President Hinkley.

Jack Jack was a snow boarder. The only problem was that it was kind of warm here in Arizona. He was happy to take the sweater off when it was time.

Here are pictures of the work in progress. I know Cade looks sad here, but he really isn't. He was just posing for the camera. So was Dylan. They were both so excited to shave their heads. We were going to get them bald caps at first, but the boys wouldn't have of it...they wanted to be shaved bald on the top!!!

My Top Ten

Melissa tagged me on her blog to list the top 10 things I can't live without. Mel...when I was doing this I thought it was my top 10 favorite things. So, yes I can live without some of these things even though I may not want to because..well, they are my top 10 favorite things.

My number one top thing is: the gospel. I couldn't imagine where I would be in my life without it and this would also fall under something I couldn't live without.

My family: Obviously one of my top favorite things and something I couldn't live without. They are everything to me. We don't have a current family picture with Gavin so I added a picture of him. Next month we hope to have a family picture with our newest addition. Jack has changed so much in that top picture from two years ago.

Friends: Also...can't live without. I love my friends...old and new. Some I keep in better contact with than others, but that doesn't change the way I feel about them. Sadly...the closer I live to you...the better in contact I keep. That is why I am so thankful for blogging. It has helped me to reconnect with friends that me alot to me. So I may be beating a dead horse.... but Bobbi, Lacey, Amy and Ashley.....you all need to start that blog soon. And Elaine...I'm happy to see you put more photo's on your photography blog. I'm still waiting for your family blog to get started too.
:-)

Food and Cooking: I love to cook and anyone who knows me well knows I love to eat! I can live without cooking I suppose but I can't live without eating.

Shopping: I love to shop. I love to shop for everything except groceries (unless I need to get out of the house for a break and Chad's watching the kids...then I don't mind). :-) Something I can live without if I must.

Diet Coke: Melissa, you and I both. I think college is where I picked up this habit. Use to be something that I couldn't live without. Since I have been pregnant or nursing the last 20 months I have learned to live without it. I still love it though. In the next month I'm hoping not to make a daily habit of it again. Instead I hope to just drink it when I go out to eat. Wish me luck.

Ice Cream: Like it. Love it. Gotta have it. Gotta have it every time. I love every form of ice cream. Cone, sundae, ice cream cake, popsicle, Dibs, ice cream cookie...you name it. My favorite though....is homemade lime ice cream. Thanks Erin for introducing that to me in college. That will forever be a favorite.

Fall and Holidays: I love fall and the start of all the holidays that follow. To me it is a time where families get together and I love that.

Photography: A new found favorite going on two and a half years now. I love taking pictures, photoshop, scrapbooking and now blogging. I have a long way to go in perfecting my photography, but I'm enjoying the ride.

Reading: I love to read. I posted the two books I'm reading right now..."Eclipse" and "To Draw Closer To God". I know I'm reading two books at the same time, but ones fiction and the other isn't...so that helps. Other books I've read this year are: The Kite Runner, The Secret Between Us, Twlight, New Moon, Turnaround, and Before the Dawn. Also...not to mention all the kids books my children like me to read to them, which I also enjoy doing. I haven't read as much as I would have liked this year, but not bad when you have a family of 6 to take care of and other hobbies such as photos and scrapbooking.

Thanks Mel for the tag. This was my first one. Let's see...who do I want to tag for the first time? Sharlet and Carlene. You're officially tagged.

The Annual Edgerton Harper "Get Out of the Heat" Getaway (9/13/08)

Every year the Harper's and Edgerton's plan a trip to get out of the heat in September. Last year we went to Flagstaff, Arizona and the Grand Canyon. This year we went to San Diego, California. Gavin just loved crawling around the sand and water. By the end he had sand all over his face. I kept trying to get pictures of him and he kept crawling towards me as fast as he could trying to grab the camera with his wet, sandy hands.

Cade "The Body"...as Dad always calls him. He enjoyed playing in the surf with Jack and Lacey.

Jace and Gavin played the most on the sand. I don't have any pictures of Lacey because Steve threatend me not to put any pictures of him on my blog and all the pictures I had of Lacey...Steve was in the background. By the way Steve....I was so close to putting a picture of you as my top heading picture as a joke for the day. If it was April Fools...I would have.

Dylan absolutely loved the beach. A lot of my pictures came out soft this day but my pictures of Dylan were flat out blurry. He was constantly moving around in the waves having a blast. So I didn't get as many pics of him that came out as a result. He got braver and braver as the day went on. By the end of the day he was body surfing pretty far out letting the waves toss him around.

The kids had fun on the boat too. Here is a picture of Steve and Jack....of course I had to cut Steve out. Later Steve took the boat out himself and went surfing with it. It was entertainment for Amy, Chad and I. Some of those waves were pretty big and we got to witness Steve being tossed out of that boat like a rag doll. He even got some laughs from people watching nearby. I did see him nail a wave perfectly and ride it in.

The end of the day. I'm calling everyone in...time to go eat. We had a great time.

Before our trip to San Diego...the boys and I went to visit family in Monrovia, California while Chad was on a business trip. We stayed with Aunt Stacie and had a great time. Stacie took some time off work to spend with us. Papa came and took the boys out for breakfast and Stacie and I just hung out. It was nice to spend some time with her. Then we went out for Sushi. One of my favorite things to do when we visit. The boys actually liked it so I'll start bring them here in Arizona. I found out that Gavin loves tofu. He couldn't get enough of it. Then we went to Papa's and the boys got to play with their cousins James, Chasen, and Parker. We also spent time with Aunt Shelley and Aunt Starla and cousin Amber. Of course I forgot my camera at Stacie's....so no pics of Papa, Shelley, Starla or the cousins. Nana had the flu so we didn't get to spend much time with her or Grandpa Don. On our way out of town to San Diego we did meet them at the park to say hello. We couldn't come this far without a visit...it just didn't seem right.

Loosing Teeth (6/15/08)

Okay...it's been awhile since I've posting anything. I'm going to try and mix some old pictures from through out the year that I'd like to have for memories and journal purposes along with my newer pictures. This picture is from June 15, 2008. Holy cow Dylan....can you lose anymore teeth? We took his baptism pictures on June 10th and he still had both upper teeth although if you look closely (I'll be adding those pictures soon) you can tell both top front teeth are loose. I was in such a hurry to take those before he lost all his teeth. I figured we could get those cute pictures with missing teeth on his baptism day...which we did. The top right tooth was really lose the day of his baptism and it fell out the next day. Today his right eye tooth is lose and he has also lost his left eye tooth. Talk about all at once. He loves it though...another tooth to give the tooth fairy is always a good thing.
